The students are enjoying learning about Arctic animals. We focused on adaptations of and facts about walruses and polar bears. They created paper plate dioramas, and I love how they turned out! We also did a blubber experiment. I filled a bucket with ice water, then placed a Ziploc bag of Crisco, with another small bag inside. The students put one hand inside the small bag and the other in the ice water. They quickly noticed how the "blubber" protects from the cold, which is how walruses survive the extremely cold temperature and water.
We rocked the topic 7 math test this week and dove right into topic 8. The Valentine's Day party is this Friday, February 10 from 11:45-12:30. If your child chooses to make a box, please have it ready to go for the party. Also, friendly reminder about the $2. Thank you! Helper/snack list: Mon- Ava Tues- Gabby Wednesday- Thomas Thursday- Logan Friday- 1/2 Day/Party
