For Shared Reading the last couple weeks, we focused on recognizing the moral/lesson an author is trying to portray in a story. As the days went on, the students improved so much on figuring out what exactly the deeper meaning of each story is.
Writing realistic fiction books has been a big hit. The students are working hard on describing their characters and stories with lots of detail. Yesterday, we discussed breaking up each book into chapters. I will send them home in the next couple weeks so you can read and enjoy them! We started our bean plant experiment, which continues through next week. To see the role of water and sunlight, one bean has water and no sun, another has sun only and the third has both water and sun. The kids look forward to seeing the changes each day and record them in their observation journals. Parts of a plant. Next Friday, April 28 is Tiger Pride at 2:30. And friendly reminder that our field trip to Fantastic Caverns is Tuesday, May 2. Helper/snack list: Mon- Morna Tues- Ally Wednesday- Blake Thursday- Aryah Friday- Makenzie
