Students wrote narrative pieces to get ready for our final unit of the year. Next week, we begin learning how to write character series. For shared reading, we focused on fluency and used a Readers' Theater to practice. They had fun finishing the weather journal this week and exploring/researching extreme weather on Epic. Friendly reminder that next Thursday we're having a pizza party! Every single child in our class grew in reading/moved up at least one level from second to third quarter, and that is truly something to celebrate! Students learned about the attributes of 2D shapes and start 3D shapes next. We continued logging the weather in our journal and discussed the water cycle. Students practiced comprehension by choosing/recognizing VIP (very important parts) in non-fiction books. After the break, we get back into narrative writing, and complex vowels is our next set of phonics lessons.
