We started our final writing unit, realistic fiction. Students came up with characters and introduced them in their first book. For Shared Reading, we did a close reading of a poem and practiced rhyming and parts of speech.
Students finished the measuring unit and took the test. Everyone met the goal and scored a 3.0 or higher! We started Topic 13, telling time to the hour and half hour. We practiced long u words in phonics. Next week is r-controlled vowels. Sight words: her, girl, sister, brother, after Friendly reminder that student-led conferences are next Tuesday. Please see this Google sheet if you would like to check your time or signup. The 30-minute time slot is come and go. It should take about 10 minutes. Your child will go over his/her Leadership Portfolio and show you a few things in the classroom. I am excited for you to see what all he/she has been working on! The Fantastic Caverns field trip permission slip, along with the $6.25, is due next Friday, April 1. Thank you! Your child will go over it with you at Spring Conferences. Students take the NWEA next Tuesday and Thursday for the third and final time this year. ipads will stay at school all week so they are here and charged. Thank you!
