What a great week. I am blown away with the sweetness and hard work that is taking place in our room! I am blessed with an amazing group and have truly enjoyed getting to know everyone. We had a busy, productive week. Students started narrative writing. They are working on telling about something that has happened to them or something they have done. I also launched Read to Self for Daily 5. We discussed why it's important to read and what's expected. Students practiced building their stamina by reading good-fit/leveled books.
There should be two SeeSaw activities in your child's journal. If you do not see them, are having trouble with the app, or do not have the app downloaded and need help, please let me know. I also use SeeSaw for communication, so I want to be sure everyone is seeing/getting the information. I understand it is hard for students to grasp why everyone gets to take home an ipad but not play with it at home :) I explained that the district is being proactive by checking out a device to each student just in case we need to do any virtual learning this year. I also reminded them to keep the ipad in their backpack, unless it needs charged, to be sure it gets back to school each day. Students use ipads for Listen to Reading and weekly SeeSaw activities. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a wonderful weekend!

I am beyond excited to see everyone and get the year started!
Please let me know if you are unsure of your day or time for Meet the Teacher. Due to limited time in the room, the paperwork at your child's desk needs to be taken home, filled out and sent in with your child on the first day of school. The 5 name tags are to be taken home and put on before school each morning for the first week. Everyone who used SeeSaw last year is switched to my class. You should be able to get on the SeeSaw Family app and see my account. I printed sign up sheets for those who need them. Students will complete activities weekly in class to add to the portfolio. I also use the messaging feature to communicate any information, updates, class photos, etc. Thank you, and please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns! |
