For Shared Reading, we practiced recognizing feelings in a story and making connections.
Our fact fluency within 10 is improving! We also revisited time to the half hour. We had a blast creating egg contraptions for the egg drop challenge. Students worked well together and were creative. Field Day is Monday. If we get rained out, we'll try for Tuesday. If you plan to attend, please stop by the office before then to get your nametag. First grade is outside from 9:00-10:45. We eat lunch around 11:40. Leadership portfolios are coming home today and can stay. You will find the final writing, a math test, updated reading levels and NWEA growth data, etc. This is the last blog post. The year has flown by! I am blessed that I got to spend it with your children, and I will miss everyone. Thank you for everything! Students worked hard on fact fluency. We revisited a couple standards from first semester, and many students met the proficiency score this time around. For science, we are learning about the sun and moon. We went outside and traced our shadows at different times of the day. I completed DRAs this week. I am proud of the growth students made throughout the year! Next week, we get to participate in an egg drop challenge with a 4th grade class and Mrs. Kramer. I have a lot of materials, but there are a few things we still need if there is anyone who would be willing to provide something. I will send out a signup sheet. Thank you in advance. Field Day is Monday, May 23. If you plan to attend, please stop by the office before then to get your nametag. I will give you more detailed information when I receive it from Coach Boone. Thank you! Students are enjoying observing our seeds in different conditions and watching our plant grow. We will continue to review phonics spelling patterns. I am reassessing quarter 3 words and assessing quarter 4 words next week. Mom's and gigi's/grandma's, I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!
