What a busy, snow-day filled few weeks we've had! We are enjoying the persuasive writing that brings our opinion unit to an end. I know some of you got a kick out of the ones that came home! Students are working so hard in reading groups as well. The goal is to be on a level J/18 by the end of first grade. As you all know, reading at home is so important and I highly encourage it!
Students did a great job with the measuring math topic. We moved onto telling time to the half hour and the hour. Friendly reminder that Friday, March 8 is a half day. School is in session a full day Monday, March 11 and a half day Tuesday, March 12. First grade is doing a STEM/explorer day on the 11th. They are going to love it! Spring conferences are Tuesday, March 26. If you would like to meet with me, please see the Google signup sheet I sent through Dojo. Thank you! We had a fun 100th day of school and started our arctic animal adaptation unit. Ask your child what he/she learned from the blubber experiment :)
I have a collaboration day next Thursday, so students have a sub. Friendly reminder that our Valentine's Day party is Friday, February 15 at 11:30. This is a half day, so school dismisses at 12:30.
