It sure was nice to have some days off, but I was happy to get back to school! We had an awesome, busy week.
Students took the Topic 12 math test and started working on telling time to the half hour and hour. This is another short unit, so the test is next week. Our Leader in Me focus has been Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw. This week we discussed how doing things that we love make us feel good and worthy while sharpening our heart and soul. Sight words for next week- look, come, because, here, why. They are the last of quarter 3, so I will give the assessment in two weeks. We watched videos, explored, read books and wrote about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Next week is Read Across America week and the theme is Celebrate Reading is for Everyone! Monday- Dress in your favorite outfit. What makes you YOU? Tuesday- Bring a book to read to a friend and/or dress as the character in your favorite book. Wednesday- Dress in your jammies to get cozy when you read. Thursday- Dress up to celebrate how you like to be active. Friday- Dress up as a superhero to show off your superpowers.
