For the last several days, we worked together to write a non-fiction Native American book. Students also completed a Mayflower STEM challenge. They worked together in groups to create a boat. The goal was to make it sturdy enough to hold cubes when in a tub of water. The winning team's boat held 100!
Sharpen the Saw is our habit for the next two weeks. We're discussing how to care for our body, brain, heart and soul. In math, students are working on reading charts, using tallies and counting by 5s. After the break, we start working on counting by 10s to 120 (and eventually counting by 10s from any given number). Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Snack Helpers Monday- Igor Tuesday- Alex Wednesday- Jaxon Thursday- Braylee Friday- Levi D We are back down to 21 students.

Using what we already knew and learned about pumpkins, we worked together to write a non-fiction pumpkin book. Students also kept a pumpkin decomposition journal and learned that the piece sitting in water kept its shape and size best. We also performed a candy corn experiment that students enjoyed! Ask your child which liquid did not change the candy.
Looking forward to the week! We will write a new non-fiction book about Native Americans and practice asking and answering questions about key details in books. Synergize is our habit of the week. Snack Helpers Wednesday- Edyn Thursday- Autumn Friday- Adrina |
