For Shared Reading, we practiced comprehension by answering questions about a passage. Students enjoyed themed Christmas writing and crafts. We learned about reindeer and watched a live feed of Santa's reindeer. We also did a dissolving candy cane experiment.
Leadership portfolios are coming home on Monday again, because there are quite a few new items. You should find the topic 7/8 math test, 120 chart, phonics word assessment and informative writing final. Please look through the portfolio and send it back to school by Wednesday. Thank you in advance! We will review second quarter phonics and sight words. The Christmas party is next Wednesday. Students worked hard and finished up their final teaching books. We celebrated today by reading the books to the class and enjoying hot chocolate. Leadership portfolios are coming home on Monday. We finished our teaching book unit in writing, so next week students work on editing and publishing their favorite book for our celebration on Friday.
We took the Topic 6 math test, and every single students is proficient on the standard! For the next few weeks, we are working on place value and counting by/making numbers with tens and ones up to 120. We are doing the ch/tch digraph in Phonics next week.
